COLOR FORECAST FOR 2014

Deciding on what your wedding color will be could be a little tricky, I may say.  Factors are to be considered. Varied reactions and unsolicited advises  might be a little bit too much 'round the corner. So, SIGH high, Bride, you might wanna gear up and bargain for a win -win situation here.

For example, a Bride-to- be loves the deep purple color and wishes to  mainly incorporate that color  to her wedding details, but as traditional Filipino members of her family might attest to such color choice because it is associated with a loss of a loved one.

Another bride, loves all her wedding party and guests to wear the sophisticated BLACK so that she will be the only one who will wear IMMACULATE WHITE, yet a big NO NO form a grad mom.

So , choosing the RIGHT MOTIF needs to be thought of. You might wanna check the COLOR WHEEL for this.

THE COLOR WHEEL

Still worried and confused, Lovelies? Don't worry, I have a solution.

PANTONE, INC will do the JOB for YOU.

Who is Pantone , INC?

Pantone Inc. is a corporation headquartered in Carlstadt, New Jersey.[1] The company is best known for its Pantone Matching System (PMS), a proprietary color spaceused in a variety of industries, primarily printing, though sometimes in the manufacture of colored paint, fabric, and plastics.

Annually Pantone declares a particular color "Color of the Year". Twice a year the company hosts, in a European capital, a secret meeting of representatives from various nations' color standards groups.

And for SPRING  2014, They came up with amazing choices.
WHY SPRING? Invitesweddings.com states that, I quote,  "A spring wedding evokes the idea of fresh new love, brightly colored flowers and all the beauty of a spring day."  Pastel Color Schemes are trending comer 2014.

HERE ARE THE TOP 10 SPRING COLORS FOR 2014

Dazzling Blue – Pantone, an authority on color, recently announced that Dazzling Blue is the color of choice for spring 2014.  This is a gorgeous color for me, a personal fave. I find it not too girly and not too boyish. It is just the exact amount of Something BLUE-TI-FUL for the Big event.

Radiant Orchid- This  a rich purple touched with fuchsia is a designer's fave.  This invokes Victorian era. But this blend of fuchsia, pink, purple, and lavender  is a radiant stunner.

Violet Tulip- A romantic, vintage purple which evokes wistful nostalgia.

Placid blue- a calm shade of   neutral that may work well with every other color yet may also stand out on it's own. It is  like a picture-perfect, tranquil and reassuring sky, induces a sense of peaceful calmness.

Cayenne - a high-pitched red, adds a dash of spicy heat to neutrals, and heightens the excitement

Freesia -  a blazing yellow that is sure to illuminate wardrobes this season

Hemlock - According to Pantone.com , Hemlock is  a summery, ornamental green, provides a decorative touch that's very different from the greens of recent seasons. Pair any of these versatile pastels with a bolder hue for an au courant look.

Celosia Orange - optimistic, spontaneous hue, much like the  much like the setting summer sun.

Paloma Gray - Pantone.com describes this colors as a quintessential neutral, interesting enough to be worn alone or combined with any color for sophisticated poise.

Sand - a lightly toasted and amiable neutral, conjures images of the beach and the carefree days of summer

Choosing your wedding colors will never be difficult. It will always be a happy tone , checking what vibe and feel you want to achieve for your big day.

Pantone, the global authority in color, actually does their work best in forecasting colors that will note trends in the coming year, so Bride - to be, worry no more.

I assure you this is gonna be super fun and wonderful, it might be overwhelming at first but it will definitely be a moment to remember.

TAH TAH for now, on my next blog entry , we will check on palettes or color combinations  that will  be a definite hit for your upcoming big day.

HE ASKED... and SHE SAID YES... then, WHAT NOW?

 DEAR BRIDE- TO -BE,

ALRIGHT, That  dapper  SPECIAL SOMEONE in your life just dropped the Q!... and hey, girlfriend, the question bugging you now after saying YES, ...WHAT TO DO NEXT? OH NO! OUR BUDGET is ON THE LINE!

Nothing to fret, Lovelies. It is as simple as ABC, first things first.   All you need is your PEN and  NOTEBOOK , in addendum to the different  high called FIANCEE GLOW.

HUH! SAY WHAT?  you might wanna ask.... and YES you read it right!

Girlfriend, Y-O-U need to have a  CHECKLIST! So, you might want to visit a local bookstore in your area and buy a dainty notebook and a good pen.

Starting now, those are you constant companions so  they should be lovely and project that sunshine glow. Just so simple, write down everything you want to happen on you Big day.  Your scribbles will just be a great reminder on what to do next.  You also need to come up with a BUDGET PLAN and STICK to it!

HOW TO START THE LIST? you might wanna ask again...

Wedding Books will also help in the planning process

Firstly,  You might wanna Hire me  first.... *wink wink...  kidding aside....  but half meant :-D

When I plan weddings, I always stress out to my couple that  there are three (3) main factors you need to consider to SPLURGE, aside from the very important  input inclusive of THE necessary DOCUMENTS and the CEREMONY VENUE and the Officiant.

Do not be scared of the word SPLURGE because what I meant  is SPLURGING within your allotted budget, since you need to give specific percentages on each wedding detail needed.

The three main factors on top of my LIST are:

1. THE RECEPTION and FOOD -

Filipinos love to dine with families, and Filipino weddings are of  no exception. It is always timely during these events where kin gather around and celebrate, thus you need THE SPLURGE on this. It might take almost half of your wedding budget.

2. A TALENTED PHOTOGRAPHER / VIDEOGRAPHER

A good lens man is always a MUST. Please remember that the pictures that will be taken by your photographer  will CAPTURE the moments on your BIG DAY. The pictures will be the ones  that will last a lifetime after all ( aside from the marriage, of course ).

So, it is best to choose a reputable one that has a good eye for every detail. Professional photographers are already best in their craft. Their experiences will tell it all through the shots that they will produce. But do not get me wrong ,  note  that newbie photographers also has great potentials as well. If you want to hire an up and coming photographer, please be guided that he or she is still learning the craft, so expectations should also be at a considerable standard.

Here's some Lensmen I worked with before, definitely on my TOP PICKS:

One of the A-List Photographer In the Metro, KIT BAJAR

The BIBI de los Reyes

 EPIC  Team

John Harold Lucas of  JHL PHOTOGRAPHY

Balamban-based wedding supplier/ friend, RIEZL CABANERO - CHUA is your lens woman

3. AN EXPERT MAQUILLAGE   ( MAKE UP ARTIST . STYLIST )-

Admit it,  You want  to look your best self on your wedding day. Simply put, YOU WANT TO BE YOUR BETTER SELF, and a skillful make up artist will enhance your already good features though . A dewy / blushing bride look will always be a classic. It always makes swoon worthy moreover picture ready and picture perfect. Plus, it is timeless.

Notable make up artists, through experience, already knew good products that are long lasting through out the event.  Professional make up artist may offer both traditional make up artistry or airbrush makeup. The number of people to be made up should also be noted. Quality on Quantity they say, but of course, the professional fee should also be accounted for.

Pictures will tell all, you would not like it if you have too much of a blush or your neckline color is darker than that of  the already pale face foundation. Moreover, it would be no good if you will dethrone Betty La Fea when it comes to the  eyebrow authority.  Thus, make up is an art. So choose a good artist, then.

THE ALLEGO SISTERS l- r; KIM, BRIDE DAREEN, and BHEB

up and coming makeup artist, too, is KAEL BONTIA, very keen to details as well

Now, The latter said, It will never be a bargain. The other details, we always have the option to spend at a minimal. The gown, you may add, may be RENTED or  BORROWED or FIRST USER RENTALS are also available nowadays.  DIY are also an option when it comes to  the invitations, missalletes, and giveaways. Crafty members of the family, I'm sure will always be willing to lend a hand. You can also choose lesser florist rates. It is just a matter of choosing which wedding detail you want to SPLURGE ON or SPEND LESS.

So, dearest BRIDE- TO- BE, worry no more. You are headed to a good start. But, note as well that there are still more stuff you need to think carefully about. Thus, pen it down right away,  Lovely!  also, look for picture pegs and make a mood book or board, doing this you will achieve a certain wedding style or feel that you wish to happen on your big day. And Oh, do not forget to pick your wedding color or motif. Your wedding color will put together all your plans and ideas. On my next blog, I will expound more on this.

Tah - Tah, Pretty! Hope this helps!

THE BRIDE AND I TEAM, at your service

DEAR READER,  ( in case you might wanna know ) ;-D *wink *wink

WEDDINGS AND I,  we might have had a LOVE STORY.... or better yet, an understanding,  because I fell wickedly in love with I Do's since 2001. BLAME IT to Mary Fiore, I guess!

The J. Lo character in  The WEDDING PLANNER  made me dream on how to put detail, class and sophistication in someone's  big event without breaking a bank. It amused me way back  thinking that I could be an ORGANIZING GURU at someone's big day and put my creativity and style into realistic tangible pieces of ideas  while adding   my mark unto it. It will not only  be a coordination service for me but a fond memory of a dream that came to life. I know,  it will make me HAPPY.

Before, It was only a product of my imagination, but NOW, It is The  REALITY for me.

I had a big leap from the giddy 2005  bride that I was,  who was  trying to make both ends meet with our lil' hitch budget  just to put pizzazz to my own  "I Do event"  to being  a WEDDING PLANNER,  now spearheading THE BRIDE AND I EVENTS,  along  with  my lovely team of a trio slash wedding assistants slash sisters. I'm no Wedding expert,  nor a go- to planner in the METRO,  but I adore my couples so much, for entrusting to me  the biggest event of their lives. I am greatly honored for the vote of trust and confidence that my couples willingly share with me. It makes my heart melt and stoked that they allow me to creatively indulge into  the detailing and planning process, be it more budget or less.  So, I may say, I  LOVE MY  (#sideline) JOB! in the most positive intonation ever.( pardon the hash tag .. because my MAIN JOB is  being SCAIA's MOM).  I may not yet earn extensively, but the friendship I gained along the process was way more than a BONUS. I am friends with the couples' whose weddings I coordinated and it makes my heart sing and skip a beat  whenever random  messages was sent my way  seeking for my services since  one of my couples referred me. It makes me smile from  ear to ear. I must have done well. Someday soon, The wedding Biz will give me  my own highlight and  place in the sun. I am slowly getting there. I am determined and hopeful. I will get there!

And to the FIRST FEW BRIDES who Trusted me,  ( MY sister DARYL - I think she has no choice, MY GOOD FRIENDS, CHARISMA ( for her  prenuptial accessories and bouquet )  AND GINA ( for the full coordination stint you entrusted me, along with ALING ) - you boosted my WEDDING PLANNING CAREER -- if you only knew ) even if I have less coordination experience way back, I am THANKFUL for you believing in me. Special metion goes to my friend Christine Lalic, who trusted me to prettify her on her wedding day, wow, that was a first! hmmm wedding planner/ make up artist.. might be a combo....

And to MY PAST BRIDE AND I COUPLES reading this BLOG, you kept me focused and you kept me dreamin' bigtime.  I will still continue to be inlove with  WEDDINGS in as much as I AM VERY MUCH  INLOVE with LIFE. An addendum to my SUPPLIER friends who work extraordinarily well to make each Bride and  I event a success.

To my betterhalf,  REYDAN,  and to my mini me, SCAIA... indeed HAPPINESS is HOMEMADE. I love you both to pieces. And to my MUDRA AND PUDRA, along with my cool sibs, you know where i got my creative inclination.

As for me, I know that Life is  better with  adventure, BUT a Life with a Wedding Planner Adventure is way more fab! Add plenty of doses of  organizing charm, a little bit of strategic stubbornness and blaming it to a whole 'lotta determination and skill, plus an ample bag  of patience,  then  I can happily  kick off my stiletto after every  " I DO" ---- Hmmmm sweet victory,  It' s a BRIDE AND I thing, Where Dreams wear white... urggghhh no... some prefer blush pink.. some mint... some ecru tehehehe....

This  is THE BRIDE and I Events LOGO, sketched by the Deviant Artist, CHIE HASIL.... tnx a plenty.
